It has been thrilling to watch the growth of the osprey population along the NJ coast. I have a clear memory of my mother in the early 1960’s lamenting that there were no more ospreys around. She described nest after nest on the telephone poles. This year I counted a number of nests when biking, and enjoyed the screeching of parents and fledglings in nest atop ourtown’s fire siren. Your sequence of photos and dialogue is enchanting. Thanks so much for posting!
